Basic Certified Welder (FF)

Certification training consists of 112 hours, and includes classroom lecture, practice and final test. Upon successful completion of the course and passing the test, student will be A.W.S. D1.1 certified for structural welding. Primary emphasis will be on stick welding, properly known as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). Classes must be taken in order. Classes held at the VA School of Metal, 102-A Industrial Drive, Troy, VA 22974.

Please read:  I am enrolling in this class as part of the FastForward Grant Program (WCG). As a condition to receiving a grant, I agree to the following terms and conditions as specified on this site: "" FastForward/WCG Release Form. Week 1 and 2 will be the 1G position (on flat plate) Week 3 and 4 will be the 2G position (Horizontal) Week 5 and 6 will be the 3G position (Vertical up) Week 7 will be the 4G position (overhead) Students should dress appropriately with work shoes and all cotton clothing with no nylon properties. All other equipment will be provided for use during class.
