This is a FastForward Program: FastForward programs are short-term training courses for industry credentials in high-demand jobs. Funding may be available to offset the tuition cost for individuals who meet eligibility requirements. Funding is limited and therefore distributed on a first-come, first-come basis.
To apply for funding for this class, enroll in the class for the FastForward Funding Application, answer all of the questions, and select Add to Cart to submit your application. WCG Grant: Eligible Virginia residents may pay only one-third (1/3) of the full tuition cost. To qualify, you must meet the Virginia domicile requirements. Virginia "domicile" means you have lived in Virginia and intended to stay here indefinitely for at least one year before the date of application.
G3/FANTIC Initiative: The G3 and FANTIC programs makes it possible for Virginians with low or modest income to pursue jobs in high-demand fields. Funding covers an additional 1/3 of the course tuition.

Class Description
Start your career in healthcare as a medical administrative assistant. In the growing field of healthcare, qualified medical administrative assistants are in high demand in clinics, hospitals, insurance companies, dental offices, and private provider clinics. This program covers the professional soft skills and hands-on technical skills to work as a patient service representative, medical secretary, medical administrative assistant, or medical records clerk.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will take the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) certification exam offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
Tuition Includes: Textbook, learning tools, and study materials. NHA online practice exams, online study guide, and fee for the CMAA exam.
