PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Continue to expand your knowledge and skill with advanced HEO training! Topics include rough terrain forklifts, dump trucks, interpreting civil drawings, excavation math, sitework and soils, skid steers, loaders and scrapers. Learn proper skills with simulators and equipment in the field. Upon successful completion of this course, students are eligible to sit for the Heavy Equipment Operator – Level 2 credential exam offered by the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER).
Admissions Requirements:
- Completion of Heavy Equipment Operator Level 1 with successful NCCER Certification
- Must be at least 18 years of age by first day of class to register.
This is a FastForward Program: FastForward programs are short-term training courses for industry credentials in high-demand jobs. Funding may be available to offset the tuition cost for individuals who meet eligibility requirements. Funding is limited and therefore distributed on a first-come, first-come basis.
WCG Grant: Eligible Virginia residents may pay only one-third (1/3) of the full tuition cost. To qualify, you must meet the Virginia domicile requirements. Virginia "domicile" means you have lived in Virginia and intended to stay here indefinitely for at least one year before the date of application.
G3/FANTIC Initiatives: The G3 and FANTIC programs makes it possible for Virginians with low or modest income to pursue jobs in high-demand fields. Funding covers an additional 1/3 of the course tuition.
