Gain the knowledge and skills to design, install and maintain solar systems! This course will introduce you to photovoltaic (PV) design, installation, and maintenance of solar systems. The classroom theory and hands-on training will cover the following learning objectives: markets and applications, safety basics, electricity basics, solar energy fundamentals, module fundamentals, system components, system sizing principles, system electrical and mechanical design and performance analysis, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Upon successful completion of this course, students are eligible to sit for the Photovoltaic Association credential exam offered by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). This credential is intended for people who are currently working in, or seeking employment in, the renewable energy industry.

Note: Prospective students with limited trades experience are encouraged to complete Introduction to Construction prior to enrolling in this program.
